· 03/05/08  -  9pm  THE BLUE FLIES

Blueflies are a York based band that plays their own blues - funk influenced music

together with covers - doing ex Free exceptionally well, and Crossroads simply to die for. Now to be seen irregularly in Yorkshire as lead guitarist - Miles Gilderdyke - is now part of Acoustic Alchemy www.acoustic-alchemy.net and, in 2002 won Gibson Jazz guitarist of the year and was also nominated for a Grammy - so satisfying those of us who were aware that York has an incredible music scene!

'Armed with impressive stacks and even more impressive hair they very much looked the part of a 70's hard rocking outfit; and that is exactly what they delivered. Great rocking song after great rocking song they wowed with succulent guitar solos and delectable vocals. Full on energy and stage presence makes this band incredibly watcheable and their sound is so tight...' [The Talk Magazine]

· 21/05/08  -   HESSIAN presents: THE STRANGE DEATH OF LIBERAL ENGLAND

Early 2006 and five like minded souls in Portsmouth gather together to form what will henceforth be known as The Strange Death Of Liberal England. With a cumulative desire to make music that explores light and shade, beauty and ugliness, creation and destruction, the band take their cue from the Constellation imprint, the more creative end of the current UK music scene and the ethos of pushing in all directions musically within the same set. The band also take the interesting decision to share roles and not communicate verbally with the audience. This leads to early shows being notable as members switch instruments between songs and use slogan placards to highlight song titles and transmit messages to those watching. The band recently toured with OF MONTREAL and MANIC STREET PREACHERS

· 31/05/08  -   REBORN MUSIC presents:THREE YEARS HIDING

It’s such a good feeling to hear a fresh young sound with bags of potential to then realise that they are from these very isles. Redditch based Three Years Hiding are writing honest & fantastic music. This debut album is absolutely chock full of pop-rock brilliance that will no doubt be in your stereo for months to come. Combining the atmospheric indie sound  of Minus The Bear , the layered vocal assault of Taking Back Sunday and melody-driven Jimmy Eat world-style choruses, TYH are an absolute delight. Whilst comparisons are easy to make there are so many hooks here that make them stand-alone. Sometimes cute, sometimes arrogant and often brilliant, this debut is one of the strongest of this genre to be released in a long long while. Hats off young sirs, Nick Calafato
